You are invited to participate in the A&D Annual 2023 Graduate Exhibition
Presented across the UNSW Paddington campus and online from 6–17 December 2023, it is an opportunity to share your work with a broader audience and celebrate your achievements.
Each year, prizes are awarded to outstanding Art & Design graduates, including the TWT Excellence Prize supported by the Bridging Hope Charity Foundation which includes a $3,000 bursary and artist studio at St Leonards Creative Precinct for a year.
All students graduating from School of Art & Design coursework programs in 2023 can participate in the exhibition and website. This encompasses all undergraduate single and double degrees, as well as the Master of Design postgraduate program.
To be eligible, you must be completing all coursework in your program in 2023. Exceptions can be made if you have 6-12 units of credit in Electives, General Education or Professional Experience (PEP) remaining.
To be included in either the exhibition or the website, you must register online. Registration will open in Week 8 of Term 2 (Monday 17 July 2023, 9:00 am) and close at Week 3 of Term 3 (Friday 29 September, 11:59 pm). Late entries submitted after the deadline via email will not be accepted.
If you are confused about what is required in this form, please contact the Annual Director, Deborah Tillman.
For further details on what you need to submit for the website or how to propose work for the exhibition, please read the information below.
The Annual Website is an opportunity to represent your practice through an online profile. This profile includes a 150-word bio, a 100-word statement about your practice, 1–5 high-quality images of your work, and links to your personal website and/or Instagram account.
Submission of at least one high-quality image is mandatory to be included in the website, and a maximum of five images will be accepted. These images do not need to be the finished work you are planning to exhibit, they just need to be indicative of your practice. Any images or statements supplied must be your own work and must not infringe copyright.

The Annual Exhibition will be presented at the Paddington campus from 6 – 17 December 2023.
When proposing work for exhibition, please keep in mind that the A&D Annual is a group show that accommodates works from a large cohort of students across multiple sites, both claimed public space, and finished presentation spaces on the Paddington Campus. Space is always tricky, so please only propose modest work for inclusion, or be prepared to scale your work.
UNSW staff will design and install the exhibition in consultation with the Galleries. You will be notified of a specific date, time, and location to deliver your work between Friday 24 November – Monday 5 December 2023. You will likely need to be onsite during install.
Students with 2D artworks must deliver their work with a suitable hanging system or D-rings attached for display. Students working in moving image should encode videos as an H264 format MP4 file. Video works may be displayed on a show-reel, and students requiring AV resources may be requested to borrow this equipment from the Resource Centre (4D Hub) or Computing Services Unit (CSU). Please keep in mind that completing the registration form does not guarantee any equipment or installation requests.
Deinstallation
All works must be collected on Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 December 2023 between 9am–5pm. Works will not be released before these dates. UNSW Galleries will not be responsible for the packaging of works. It is the responsibility of all students to return borrowed equipment.
