The brief

Art curating is a way of inquiring the world around us through reflection and connection making. Between 2020-21 I curated an art exhibition of UNSW student’s works initiated by Dr. Rebecca Shanahan at the UNSW Main Library Exhibition space together with my course colleague Lor Awwad.

Student reflection

The concept for this show was to delve into the experiences of the artists during the first Australian lockdown, in which the participants were forced to explore their creative boundaries within the limitations of their domestic environments.

About Closed Doors: Isolation and art was an artistic investigation on the events of 2020 coinciding with 2021 NSW outbreak. An extracurricular opportunity which demonstrated to be a timely exercise on the career of art curating and its powerful possibilities on thinking about contemporaneity. From concept to installation, venue prospection to exhibition design, through to writing and production, this project was an incommensurable real life experience which helped me gaze into the ins and outs of curatorial and cultural leadership industries.
