Artist statement

The week I had lunch with my Dad every day explores the fluid relationship between memory and the present, and memory’s existence as both a fragment and  total of an event. Referencing historical photos and my memories of a hospital stay I had as a child, strategies for narrative construction and visualisation are utilised through drawing,  painting and collage to create a large scale mixed media  work which accounts for the impressions formed through factual resources alongside those formed through memory.
