STUDENT'S ARTWORK

ARTIST STATEMENT

Due to time and technical constraints, my original plan for an animated short film with dynamic scenes and camera angles evolved into a still animation with a fixed camera. However, the theme of exploring Xia Ke (侠客) remained intact, and I’m pleased with the final result. Created entirely in Blender, I expanded my knowledge of bones, rigging, cloth simulation, animation, geometry nodes, and the compositor. The character’s coat was generated using cloth simulation, while the armor was controlled by bone physics. Simplifying a stylized shader, I achieved the desired visual aesthetic, and geometry nodes were used to design the grass. The final glow effect enhances the scene’s dreamy, ethereal quality.

Artwork medium: Blender
