ARTIST STATEMENT

For my major project, I created a short 3D animation called Dinosaur Park, which follows a young Parasaurolophus from 75 million years ago. My aim was to educate audiences about the Campanian era as well as the power of herbivorous animals. My rationale when creating the project was to show viewers how typical ‘fodder’ animals in media, such as Parasaurolophus Walkeri, were still powerful forces to be reckoned with. I did this by animating a hunt scene where a young Parasaur is hunted by a carnivorous Gorgosaurus Liberati and is saved by its larger parents. The animation was created entirely in Blender, with sound done in Reaper and editing performed in DaVinci Resolve. I modelled, textured and rigged all my dinosaurs in Blender and created most of the assets through Blender tools as well.

ARTIST INTRODUCTION

My name is Rishi Adhvaryu. I am a fouth-year Media Arts/ Computer Science double degree student with a passion for paleontology and non-photorealistic animation styles. I am interested in a number of elements in the video creation pipeline, but [find] special enjoyment in 3D modelling, rendering and design.
