ARTIST STATEMENT

Wander and Wonder is an animation project that intertwines a girl’s daily life with an imagined, more expressive version of herself. It contrasts 3D and 2D animation to explore the theme of identity, particularly the coexistence of an external, grounded self and an internal, vibrant self. The work also reflects on how moments of solitude and repetition can be reframed, not as emptiness but as spaces for creativity, joy and self-companionship.

ARTIST INTRODUCTION

This is Serena, studying Media Arts, specialising in Animation and 3D Visualisation. My creative focus is on crafting emotionally resonant environments and stories through 3D modelling and visual design. I’m really interested in how space, texture, and lighting can influence the viewer’s experience—whether that’s in a cinematic cutscene or an interactive game level. I love using 3D tools to bring imagined worlds to life and explore themes like identity, memory or dreams in a visual way.
