ARTIST STATEMENT

Replicant on the Loose is a 15-second-long moving image sequence consisting of three individual visual effects shots. It details a simplistic story of a man's clone or 'replicant' having escaped captivity, though the focus of the film is the futuristic setting constructed through the use of visual effects. This film was a solo project primarily created using the program NukeX.

ARTIST INTRODUCTION

Hi, my name is Tom Facer, and I'm currently a second-year Fine Arts student majoring in Animation and the Moving image. My studies so far have provided me with a strong foundation of practical skill and knowledge that I aim to apply to a career within the visual effects industry. I have a particular interest in visual effects as it combines both technical skill and problem-solving to bring imaginative concepts to life on screen. I’m always eager to learn new software and workflows that can expand my practice. I’m motivated to keep developing my skills and collaborating on projects that challenge me to push the boundaries of my craft.
