Artwork title: The Detective

For the VFX 3 project ‘The Moment of Truth’, I wanted to create a short VFX sequence where a detective is going through evidence in a 3d space regarding a mass murderer. I used Nuke to create my sequence, with dozens of pieces of evidence populating the room, which the camera travels through to find the truth behind these murders. The moment of truth comes at the end when the identity of the killer is revealed to be the detective, with them framing someone else to take the fall, letting them kill whoever they wish.

Artwork title: Memory Portals

For the VFX 2 project ‘The Doorway’, I created a short VFX sequence using Nuke where a person falls asleep and wakes up in a dream world, flying through a galaxy with portals showing their memories and past experiences. This doorway into the person’s mind was done in a first-person perspective to envelop the viewer into this dream world. After flying through positive memories, they blink and appear in a dark world with corrupted memories, causing them to shake and wake up suddenly, trying to process what they experienced.

Hello there, I’m Michael Sadler, a second year Media Arts/Computer Science student focusing on VFX and 3D visualisation, and I’m interested and willing to learn about a range of media and art forms. I want to create projects that tell interesting stories in unique ways and always strive to make my next project better than the last.
