Artwork title: Roast Sweet Potato and Milk Tea

In this animation foundation course, I wanted to experiment with colours, moods and sounds through a simple but hearty narrative. Inspired by Ghibli, I wanted to incorporate the making and preparation of simple foods easily attainable at Chinese food stalls. The final product spans under a minute, incorporating 2D animation principles and basic staging to bring everything into a cohesive flow.

I'm Sharon, a fourth-year commerce and design student. My design degree is usually focused on the more functional and technical side of things, such as exploring visual layout and engaging in user experience research. For this project, however, I wanted to experiment with a more creative side by using moving illustrations and animating a small narrative using various colours, sounds and staging. These will hopefully, aid me in understanding animation for motion graphics in the future.
