Artist statement

This artwork, named ‘Remnants’, has been generated by the solastalgia that I am experiencing due to environmental change causing coral bleaching in the Great Barrier Reef; a place that holds one of my happiest memories. The work portrays what is left of this ecosystem after the effects of global warming. This lived experience of change evokes a loss of solace and a feeling of desolation.
