Our very own Scientia Professor Mattheos Santamouris has been nicknamed ‘Mr Cool’ in response to the innovative and cutting-edge research he and other HPA group members have been conducting into a range of ‘super cool’ materials. Mat detailed the innovative building coating product that has been developed, soon to be commercialised, to significantly reduce the ambient summer temperatures of cities at the Fifth Estate’s recent eco prop tech pitch fest, Moonshot 2030.
Fitting with his global expertise in this area, Mat was recently listed as a Highly Cited Researcher for 2021 in Engineering for his ongoing and significant influence in the field. This means Mat was ranked in the top 1% in the world by citations for the year by the Web of Science. Mat was also ranked 538 from over 100,000 of the world’s top researchers in 2021 by Elsevier’s and Stanford University’s recently published database. Congratulations Professor Mat!
