Latest update
We’re pleased to share that the Academy Library will be open and available to all clients from 8.30 am on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
The 24/7 Service will be reinstated on that day, with UNSW Canberra undergraduate and higher degree students being able to use their DCAC ID to access the library spaces after 17:00 each day and across the weekends.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the refurbished library and hope you enjoy the substantially improved spaces and updated facilities!
Clients will find a significantly expanded range of individual study and collaborative spaces to support different learning styles. The changes include the new Reading Lounge collection on L1 which provides some comfy spots for reading our range of new release fiction books, inspiring biographies and interesting non-fiction items.
A new low-sensory space (managed by the UNSW Canberra EDI unit) is a welcome addition to the other EDI services located in the Library (i.e. the Parents’ Room and the Community Circle).
If you have any questions on the library opening or current support, please contact Library staff via the Ask Us Service or on 0434 369 043.
Special Collections’ access and delivery for students, academics & researchers continues! All face-to-face services (including viewings, classes, consultations, events) are being delivered via temporary spaces on campus, with online curatorial support available via the Contact page.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time and look forward to welcoming you back to a significantly enhanced library environment once the renovation is complete. If you have any questions or require assistance with library services during the closure, please contact the Library.
