Execute Cisco AnyConnect. Connect to vpn.unsw.edu.au. zID and zPass are required.
It is required to connect vpn.unsw.edu.au to obtain some surveying software network licenses, e.g. Leica Infinity.

MO has been installed on lab computers. You can obtain a copy to install on your home computer if needed.
2.1 Obtain MO installation file for home useOption 1:
Obtain a MO copy from Team cven-sage-ug in MS Teams. Mo installation file is in Software channel (folder).
Option 2:
login to a lab computer
Browse S:\SAGE\Magnet_Office_installation folder
Copy the MO installation file
Option 3:
Download from the link on Moodle course website supplied by your lecturer if available.
Option 4:
Copy MO from a lab computer remotely via myAccess (see section 3 below)
2.2 Install MO on home computers
Double click the copied or downloaded MO installation file on your computer.
Follow the onscreen instruction to install Magnet Office.
Activate your MO (see section 2.3).
2.3 Activate MO on lab or home computers
MO licensing mechanism has been changed to "Check In" & "Check Out" (CICO) from network licensing since Jan 2023 at UNSW.
"Check Out" means obtaining a license from Topcon license server. "Check In" is to return the license back to Topcon license server for others to use.
We have a pool of MO licenses for use in UNSW for surveying related courses and enrolled students. Students can obtain license access details from lecturers for using MO on lab computers or home computers.
Start MO / Select Next (if display license file not found) / Select Online / Next / entre the license login details (username: xxx; pwd: ###) / Select Keep logged in / Next / Select an available license / Next / Accept the agreement / Finish (Don't select Check in). Your MO is licensed and ready to use.
Please NOTE: Every Term, all licenses will be checked in. Users’ need to check out again in the next Term.

- Login to MyAccess
- Select menu - Access My App
- Login with your zID and zPass
- Select Desktops in the menu
- Select Civil-LABPC-H20-Rm611Open Citrix Workspace if promotted.
A new window will open and logging in. Now you are working on a lab computer via myAccess. It is the same as you are sitting at the computer.
To transfer files between the lab computer and you computer, open File Explorer on the lab computer window. Select This PC and Read/Write Access - you will be able to copy and paste files from/to the lab PC to/from your computer remotely. For example, copy S:\SAGE\Magnet_Office_installation\v8 packaged\MAGNET_Office_v80_Win64.exe and paste it to your computer. It will take sometime to copy across depending on your Internet speed.

Download installation file:
Leica Infinity is currently installed on all lab computers.
Obtain Infinity from Team cven-sage-ug in MS Teams. Infinity installation file is in Software channel (folder).
Alternatively, it can be copied from S: drive (S:\SAGE\Leica Geosystems\Leica Infinity) from a lab computer or remotely.
Obtain license for personal computers:
On campus: To be able to obtain Leica Infinity network license on your own computers, you computers must be connected to Uniwide wireless or cable network and point to license server ENGPWLICCVE580.
Off campus: Connect vpn.unsw.edu.au to obtain Infinity license. License server ENGPWLICCVE580 or ENGPWLICCVE580.ad.unsw.edu.au.

WayPoint Inertial Explorer has been installed and activated on Computer #2 in SAGE Lab. SAGE staff may use the software on their own computers temporarily with prearrangement.

Please note that it is not a network license. "Local License Manager" will be part of the package when the software is successfully installed. Local activation using "Local License Manager" is required. For other users' information and easy locating the license, Activator Info is required when activate the license on your computer. This could be your email address or your name. This string is passed to the NovAtel license server and accessible through the FlexNet customer portal and by NovAtel Waypoint support agents. If nothing is entered in the text box, then no additional information is passed to the NovAtel license server. A forced license return may interrupt your use of
the software.
Once activated, your computer occupies the license until it is returned. So, please return the license once you have finished your data processing. -
6.1. ArcGIS Pro (on CVEN lab computers)
Users are required to request their own arcgis.com login accounts (not myesri.com) through their lecturers or supervisors.
Once an arcgis.com login account is created, the user receives an email from "ArcGIS Notifications <notifications@arcgis.com>" with a link to activate and reset password. This account must be activated and the password must be reset before using ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Online. Please not that your account/login name is not your email address (e.g. it is similar to john.smith_unsw_au)
To use ArcGIS Pro on a lab computer, start ArcGIS Pro.
Click OK when ArcGIS Pro complains it cannot access the license server (might need two OKs).
Change the license type from Concurrent to Named User, and click OK.
It will then prompt for a login which is where the arcgis.com account details can be entered (your login name and password).
Make sure you use the arcgis.com account. Some users may have their my.esri.com accounts which do not work for ArcGIS Pro.6.2. ArcGIS Pro (Remote desktop to a CVEN lab computer via MyAccess)
The steps are same as in 5.1. The only difference is you can access lab computers from a non lab computer e.g. from home or off campus. Go to https://aaa-access.unsw.edu.au/. Entre zID and zPass, accept the T&Cs and click Log On. Click OK. If the system asks you to download or update Citrix, please do so. On the top of the window, click on DESKTOPS. Click CIVIL-LABPC-H20-Rm611. You may need to manually open the downloaded “*.ica” file if it not automatically open the remote desktop interface. Login using zID and zPass. This is the same as you work in front of the lab computers. ArcGIS Pro are installed on all lab computers.
6.3. ArcGIS Pro (download and installation)
6.3.1 Download ArcGIS Pro from ArcGIS Online
Follow these steps to download ArcGIS Pro from ArcGIS Online.
Sign in to your ArcGIS Online organization account from the link https://unsw-au.maps.arcgis.com.
At the top of the page, click your user name and click My settings.
On the My settings page, click the Licenses tab.
Next to ArcGIS Pro, click Download.
In the Download window, review the Language setting. If you want to download a localized version of ArcGIS Pro, change the setting to the language you want.
Click Download.
An executable file (.exe, 2.4GB) is downloaded to your computer.6.3.2 Install ArcGIS Pro
Make sure you have a ArcGIS Online account. your account must be activated through the notification link sent from arcGIS online. If you don't have one, contact your lectures or supervisors.
Install ArcGIS Pro from the downloaded file.
While approaching the end of the installation, it asks for your arcGIS Online account details (user name and password). Entre you correct user name and password, your ArcGIS Pro should start in seconds.
6.4. ArcGIS Desktop

. Entre zID and zPass, accept the T&Cs and click Log On. Click OK. If the system asks you to download or update Citrix, please do so. On the top of the window, click on Apps. Navigate to ArcGIS apps to start. No VPN or License is needed. Works on MacOS and Windows.
6.5. ArcGIS Desktop (Remote to a computer in CVEN computer lab)
https://aaa-access.unsw.edu.au/. Entre zID and zPass, accept the T&Cs and click Log On. Click OK. If the system asks you to download or update Citrix, please do so. GeoSLAM Desktop comes with the Zeb REVO handheld lidar scanner had been replaced with GeoSLAM Hun a few tears back. The Hub was GeoSLAM’s primary processing platform up until September 2021 when Connect was launched. We as a customer received both a Hub and Connect license. GeoSLAM recommends using Connect for all of the new features and faster processing.

GeoSLAM Connect: by request
GeoSLAM Hub: by request
Download the current versions of GeoSLAM Connect (v2.2.0) and/or GeoSLAM Hub (v6.2.1) and associated documents.
Install the Connect and/or Hub. While installing the Connect, it asks to install GeoSLAM license manager v1.3.5 to manage (activate and deactivate) licenses. You can activate both licenses or one of the two. The license manager requires a login. Details as below:
Username: by request; Pwd: by request
Once the licenses are activated in the license manager, the Connect and/or Hub should work on the same computer.
Please remember to deactivate the licenses when you finish the processing for others to use.

Autodesk Civil3D has been packaged for network installation in background to your UNSW's SOE computers. Either to install it on to a SOE computer or personal computer, users need to make a request to UNSW IT Service Desk by email with the following details.
For SOE computers: Name, zID, computer name, location (building number and room number), contact number.
For personal computers: Name, zID, contact number.
