A study of the controversy surrounding urban planning for religious purposes is just one of the student projects that will be on display at the Faculty of the Built Environment's graduand exhibitions.
Recent controversy over major religious development proposals has provided the basis for final year planning student Ashley Cheong's thesis.
Using Camden, Bass Hill and Annangrove as case studies, Ashley has looked at the role of religious bias, personal ethics and political intervention in planning decisions, as well as assessing NSW's current planning regulations.
Ashley's thesis 'Planning for Religious Purposes: An examination of contentious development proposals' is just one of the student projects that will be on display at the Faculty of the Built Environment's graduand exhibitions.
Showcasing the works of final year students from Landscape Architecture, Industrial Design, Architecture, Planning, Architectural Computing and Interior Architecture, the exhibitions provide a glimpse into the future of design and planning.
