UNSW will host a public symposium on renewable energy on Tuesday 15 April, to be addressed by leading scientists and industry experts on solar, wind and other technologies.
UNSW will host a public symposium on renewable energy on Tuesday 15 April, to be addressed by leading scientists and industry experts on solar, wind and other technologies.
The symposium will be chaired by Amanda McKenzie, CEO of the Climate Council, and the aims are to address persistent myths about the cost and reliability of renewable energy, as well as present the latest research to the public.
UNSW’s newest solar car eVe, which was designed, constructed and raced by the student Sunswift team in the Cruise class of the 2013 World Solar Challenge, will be on display.
A new book by Associate Professor Mark Diesendorf - Sustainable Energy Solutions for Climate Change - will also be launched at the symposium. Associate Professor Diesendorf is deputy director of the UNSW Institute of Environmental Studies, which has organised the event along with the UNSW Centre for Energy and Environmental Markets.
