A major advance on the road to building super fast quantum computers will be announced by UNSW researchers at a news conference in Sydney to coincide with publication of their work in the global scientific journal, Nature.

The patented advance is considered a substantial step forward in the global race to make the first generation of quantum computers, and clears a crucial hurdle to making them a reality.

“What we have is a game changer,” said team leader Andrew Dzurak, Scientia Professor and Director of the Australian National Fabrication Facility at UNSW.
