The Costs of Climate Change Mitigation versus Adaptation

As part of Global Climate Change Week, UNSW is hosting a range of events to lend focus to climate change action.

UNSW Business School and UNSW Sustainability are proud to host The Costs of Climate Change Mitigation versus Adaptation, a discussion on climate change action featuring:

• Professor Lesley Hughes – Councillor at the Climate Council and Distinguished Professor of Biology and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Integrity & Development) at Macquarie University.
• Mr Geoffrey Cousins – Recipient of an Order of Australia, Geoffrey Cousins is a community leader, businessman, environmentalist, writer and President of the Australian Conservation Foundation.  
• Ms Kaleesha Morris – Current UNSW Law/Arts students and member of SEED - Indigenous Youth Climate Network. 
• Associate Professor Iain MacGill – Associate Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at UNSW, and Joint Director for the University’s Centre for Energy and Environmental Markets.

The discussion will be hosted and moderated by Professor Matthew England – ARC Laureate Fellow, Deputy Director of the Climate Change Research Centre and Academic Lead for UNSW's Grand Challenge – Climate Change. 

Climate Change Week is an international event to lend focus to action on climate change.  A group of students and staff has organised a range of events and activities on campus as part of this initiative.

Events include:

• How to identify and manage climate-related risks in the financial sector?
• 3 minutes to save the world.
