An international conference at UNSW Canberra this week will examine the changing landscape of global labour markets, wages and working conditions.
The world of work is changing. The election of Donald Trump in the United States and the Brexit vote in the United Kingdom herald a major shift in economic thinking, and will bring unknown alterations in global labour markets, wages and working conditions.
These and other issues related to the world of work will be discussed at a leading international conference this week in Canberra. The 31st conference of the Association of Industrial Relations Academics in Australia and New Zealand (AIRAANZ) will be held at the QT Canberra Hotel from 8-10 February 2017.

Academics and public policy experts from around the world will be on hand to discuss a range of issues, including the political environment in the United States and its effect on global wage growth and union engagement; the effect of Brexit on working conditions and labour standards; and the future of gender equality in the workforce.
Keynote speakers include Professor John Budd, director of the Centre for Human Resources and Labour Studies at the University of Minnesota, Jill Rubery, Professor of Comparative Employment Systems at Manchester Business School, and Gill Kirton, Professor of Employment Relations at the Queen Mary University of London.
