Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla's work to revolutionise recycling via groundbreaking technologies developed at UNSW is being heard by a new, younger audience.
Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla, Director of UNSW’s Centre for Sustainable Materials Research and Technology, is the focus of a new chapter of the ABC podcast Fierce Girls, which is dedicated to telling the stories of inspirational women and their career achievements.
The podcast is aimed at primary school children and this episode is narrated by the host of Behind The News, Amelia Moseley. It profiles Professor Sahajwalla's lifelong interest in reducing waste and maximising the usefulness of waste products.
Other women who have featured in the podcast recently include Gabi Hollows, who has helped more than 2 million people across the world regain their sight, and Pam O'Neill, who fought the system to become Australia's first female jockey.
