Amanda Schadeberg
I am a marine social scientist working at the intersection of the natural and social sciences. I work with both quantitative and qualitative social science methods such as interviewing, focus groups, ethnography, systematic review, surveys, and content analysis/topic modelling. I am interested in diverse topics such as fisher behaviour, deep-ocean governance, bio-economic modelling, science-policy interfaces and marine restoration – wherever there is an intersection between people and the sea! I am also passionate about reflexivity and inclusion in science, studying the impact of COVID-19 on marine scientists and chairing the SIIECS early-career network (2021-2024). I am currently working as a research assistant in the Operation Posidonia project, collaborating with Indigenous project partners to document and communicate Aboriginal cultural values for seagrass meadows in NSW.
