Doctor Mohammad Abdul Salam
MPharm, PhD
Mohammad Abdul Salam is a Senior Research Fellow at the George Institute for Global Health, India, and a conjoint lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of New South Wales, Australia. He has a Master’s degree in pharmacy-pharmacology from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, India, and a Ph.D. in Medicine from the University of Sydney, Australia. His research has been focussed on the development and testing of low-cost pharmacological interventions for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases in low-income settings. His current work involves developing and conducting randomised controlled trials, process evaluations, and systematic reviews of strategies for improving control of risk factors of cardiovascular diseases, including improving use and adherence to indicated pharmacological therapies using fixed-dose combinations.
