Dr Ze Yu
Fields of research: Foetal and adult Cardiac Physiology and heart disease models in both large and small animals.
Research Interests: My research centres on heart disease development, including producing left ventricular hypertrophy in response to pressure overload and hypertension in rat or mice. How to treating those disease and understanding the molecular mechanisms are the two major research areas of my work. I am expanding my training in large and small animaly surgery and physiological monitoring to include the use of the isolated heart cell and immunocytochemistry to better understand normal development of heart cells and the effect of left ventricular hypertrophy on heart cell development form an early stage of the development until to adult life.
