About Information Systems at UNSW 

UNSW Bachelor of Information Systems is a three-year, full-time degree from UNSW Business School, which is ranked 1st in Australia and 4th worldwide for Information Systems research*. The degree is accredited by the Australian Computer Society and will provide you with specialist skills, knowledge, and experience in information systems, as well as the foundation to develop and implement information technology solutions in the context of a business.  

Throughout this degree, you’ll solve business problems from User Experience Design to app design and from analytics to database development. Along with foundations in finance, management and statistics, you’ll graduate with a strong potential to thrive in a tech-driven future.

Your Specialisation

We teach the Bachelor of Information Systems with innovation in mind. We develop your skills for when they matter – problem-solving in exams and at work – to create opportunities for rewarding outcomes.

In this degree, you’ll explore business intelligence, big data and information technology. You’ll develop knowledge in digital transformation, programming, database management, enterprise systems and mobile app development. We give you the opportunity to test your code in digital playgrounds on real challenges and in real-time.

Bachelor of Information Systems students can travel overseas to get a global perspective of the tech industry in the International Information Systems and Technology Practicum.

The degree is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) at the Professional Level, preparing you for professional practice in information and communications technology (ICT).

Depending on the courses you complete, you can earn a SAS Certificate in Business Analytics, awarded jointly by UNSW and SAS. SAS Certification credentials are globally recognised as the premier means to validate SAS knowledge. With a SAS Certification credential, you’ll set yourself apart from others and prove that you have the SAS knowledge to make a difference within an organisation.
