My PhD investigates how airport-focused urban regions consider determinants of health through a case study of the Western Sydney International Airport area. This research identifies planning strategies used and examines their linkages to urban health promotion. This research is an interdisciplinary project under the UNSW Scientia PhD program.

Prior to commencing my PhD studies, I worked as a Research Officer at the Centre for Health Equity Training, Research and Evaluation (CHETRE) at UNSW on projects addressing location-based disadvantage and Health Impact Assessment.

I previously worked as a hospital-based Physiotherapist, and this role highlighted how health is impacted by so many factors outside of the healthcare system. This led me to transfer from clinical care into public health in 2016 via the Master of Public Health degree from UNSW. As part of my MPH studies, I worked at CHETRE to develop the Healthy Airport Regions research program examining the application of healthy settings approaches to airports.
