I hold an MA in International Development (distinction) from University of East Anglia (UK) and a BA in Journalism (Merit) from University of Malawi. My work footprint, spanning over 10 years, includes stints as a journalist, development communication specialist, and and programme manager (e.g. grants coordination, proposal development, and donor liaison) for various organisations such as Institute of Development Studies at University of Sussex in UK; Population Services International (PSI), and University of Malawi (College of Medicine).

My research, which falls within Media and International Development, investigates the interplay between power and participation in communication for development (C4D) interventions. Focusing on health communication, I look at whether (and to what extent and for/to who) celebrities catalyse conscientising change or reinforce unequal power relations when they feature in C4D messaging.
