Chenxi Zhang is a PhD candidate, researcher, and designer at UNSW Art, Design & Architecture. A graduate of the Bachelor of Design (Honours) program at UNSW. Chenxi's works focus on Orientalism, Chinese queer and identity formation with visual practices. Chenxi's works explore how queer Chinese women in Australia negotiate racialised and heteronormative representations. Through ethnography and co-design, they position design as a critical method to reinterpret Orientalism, identity formation, and queer diasporic experience.
