Guy Freer is a practice-based researcher working across sound studies and immersive design. His PhD investigates how immersive spatial audio environments can extend acoustemological frameworks to render non-human acoustic ecologies experienceable. Guy holds a Senior Lecturer position at the University of Wollongong, and an Honorary Fellowship at the RMIT Pacific Initiative. Previous work includes Whale Cave VR (2021), a site-specific immersive environment developed in partnership with the Illawarra Local Aboriginal Lands Council.
