Biography

Isha Mishra is a PhD candidate whose research experience includes a national randomised controlled trial, feasibility study, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and qualitative research. Her work focuses on the design, evaluation, and translation of clinical trials within primary care settings, with an emphasis on supporting implementation in real-world general practice contexts.

Isha’s research has been recognised through the award of the prestigious Edward C Dunn Scholarship for outstanding research contribution. She has also received an award for Best Early-Career Researcher Presentation at the 19th International Forum for Back and Neck Pain Research in Primary Care. Her research interests include primary care research, trial methodology, and improving the quality and transparency of clinical research.

Advancing the evidence base for chronic low back pain management in primary care

Research abstract 

Isha Mishra is a PhD candidate affiliated with Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) and the School of Health Sciences at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). Her research focuses on advancing the management of chronic pain within primary healthcare settings. She is currently leading a national clinical trial evaluating the effectiveness of two treatment approaches for chronic low back pain in general practice across Australia. Alongside her research, she practices clinically as an accredited exercise physiologist, providing care to patients with a range of health conditions.
