Kaining holds a Master of Philosophy degree from UNSW School of Built Environment. She was previously awarded Bachelor of Construction Project Management with First Class Honours from the University of Technology Sydney. She has been actively involved in various research activities and two large research projects, including Impact@BE Talk Series, “Women in Construction” Project, and “Smart and Cool Places in NSW” Project.
