Research Title: Remote work unleashed: the effect of work pattern on budgetary slack.

About

Lida is a PhD candidate at the School of Accounting, Auditing and Taxation.

Lida's PhD research is to investigate how changes in work arrangement - from face-to-face to remote work or hybrid work arrangement - would affect the budgetary slack behaviour within the organization in the Covid-19 pandemic environment.

In a remote work arrangement, employees are more likely to experience perceived isolation, including geographic isolation, professional isolation, and psychological isolation, thereby contributing to increased employees’ self-serving behaviours. Lida hypothesizes that changes from traditional office work to fully remote work will exacerbate budgetary slack.
