About
I am a dedicated civil engineer with a specialisation in coastal oceanography and a strong passion for research in the field of hydraulic engineering. My expertise lies in coastal engineering, computational fluid dynamics, wave-current interaction and sedimentation modelling.
Currently pursuing my PhD at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia, my research aims to develop an advanced wave model coupled with hydrodynamic and sediment models to simulate wave-current interactions on sediment transport. Through this cutting-edge research, I seek to understand better the impacts of human activities on sediment dynamics in this coastal region.
As a civil engineer, I possess a solid foundation in infrastructure design, hydraulic structures, and open-channel hydraulics. My academic journey has equipped me with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, which I apply to tackle complex challenges in coastal engineering and environmental sustainability.
Before my PhD studies, I served as an Assistant Professor and Lecturer at prestigious institutions, sharing my expertise in river engineering, fluid mechanics, and environmental engineering with eager students. These teaching experiences have reinforced my passion for knowledge dissemination and academic mentorship.
In my previous role as a Research Assistant, I actively contributed to projects at the Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM), Bangladesh, involving developing and analysing numerical models to understand sedimentation patterns and residual flows in polders.
Throughout my academic journey, I have actively presented my research at various international conferences and published papers, showcasing my commitment to sharing knowledge and collaborating with fellow experts.
Aside from my technical skills, I possess strong leadership and team-building capabilities, as evidenced by my voluntary roles as Vice President of the Quantum Club and involvement in organising civil engineering festivals and summits. My language proficiency in Bangla and English allows me to communicate and collaborate with diverse teams effectively.
As I continue my PhD journey, I am open to collaboration opportunities with fellow professionals and organisations that share a common interest in coastal sustainability and sediment dynamics. I believe in the power of interdisciplinary collaboration to address complex challenges and achieve sustainable solutions.

Research Outputs
The key outcomes of the research are improved understanding of wave–current interactions and sediment processes in Darwin Harbour, Australia; development of coupled numerical and graph neural network models; and faster prediction of waves, suspended sediment concentration and bed changes.
