Tian (Eric) Dong is a PhD student in the School of Risk and Actuarial at the UNSW Business School. He completed his undergraduate studies in actuarial science at the University of Melbourne, where he achieved Honours Class 1 for his Honours degree in actuarial science. Eric's research focuses on developing novel deep learning models for actuarial applications, specifically, he is currently working on developing uncertainty-aware neural networks that can achieve uncertainty quantification for decision-making purposes. In addition to his research, Eric is passionate about teaching and has been tutoring since 2021. He hopes his strong academic background and enthusiasm for his field can make him an excellent mentor for aspiring and future actuaries.
