Werner Pienaar

Werner Pienaar is a Doctor of Education candidate and Boarding Housemaster/Teacher at an Independent School in Sydney. His current research focus is on Character Education, with a particular focus in the transitional nature of adolescence representing a critical period for identity formation, moral development, and the internalisation of social values. His current thesis title is ‘A diffractive ethnography of character education frameworks in assisting adolescent boys’ healthy transition into adulthood in independent boy’s secondary school boarding contexts’. Werner has an MEdLead (Distinction) from UNSW. In addition to a deep passion for character development and formation, Werner also has an interest in student wellbeing, and school leadership.
