I am a PhD researcher at the UNSW School of Education. My work examines how twice-exceptional (2e) students self-regulate their learning during academic tasks, and how emotions and self-beliefs shape these processes. I bring around 10 years of professional experience in the field of mental health, including roles as an EAP manager, psychology researcher, and School Psychologist in a K–12 bilingual school in China. Having lived and worked across diverse cultural and educational contexts, I have developed a strong understanding of how students’ individual differences, cultural identities, and developmental environments shape their learning processes and emotional wellbeing. This experience has also shaped my research interest in twice-exceptional (2e) students, whose learning profiles are often complex and not fully understood in mainstream educational settings.

My research focuses on self-regulated learning (SRL) in twice-exceptional students. Specifically, I examine how SRL processes interact with achievement emotions and academic self-concept, using process-oriented and trace-based methods.
