We conduct research on cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndromes, and diseases in order to better understand, detect, and prevent them. The leading causes of death and disability in Australia are heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and diabetes. We aim to reduce the significant burden of cardiovascular diseases and metabolic syndromes and diseases in Australia and around the world.

Endocrinology, Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism

Liverpool Diabetes Collaboration

We aim to improve the outcomes of people in South West Sydney, living with diabetes mellitus and related conditions, through research, teaching and the direct provision of evidence based multi-disciplinary clinical care.

Viruses and Diabetes Research Group

Our research group is involved in Environmental Determinants of Islet Autoimmunity (ENDIA) Study, which is a nationwide prospective cohort study examining several factors that are believed to contribute to islet autoimmunity/T1D pathogenesis.
