We’re involved in multiple facets of diabetes research: diabetes mellitus in pregnancy and the impact of ethnicity and social factors; diabetic foot disease - inflammation, infections and novel therapeutics; diabetic eye disease: incidence, prevalence, and risk factors; measuring and optimising cardio-metabolic risk and improving diabetes care during hospitalisation.
South West Sydney has a higher burden of cardio-metabolic disease, including diabetes mellitus. We seek to improve the outcomes of people in South West Sydney, living with diabetes mellitus and related conditions, through research, teaching and the direct provision of high quality evidence based multi-disciplinary clinical care.
