It is well known that Gauss hypergeometric functions can satisfy quadratic transformations. There are classical transformations of degree 3,4 and 6 as well. However, there may be transformations of higher degree. In the talk
we discuss most interesting aspects of lassification of all algebraic transformations for Gauss hypergeometric functions.
