C*-algebras of labelled graphs

We give an introduction to the C*-algebras associated to labelled directed graphs. The directed graph C*-algebras, Exel-Laca algebras and the C*-algebras associated to shift spaces by Matsumoto all arise as C*-algebras associated to labelled graphs. We give some applications of our theory to the theory of arbitrary shift spaces. This is joint work with David Pask.
