UNSW statistics postgrad wins J.B. Douglas award

UNSW Statistics PhD student, John Ormerod, was a joint winnner at the seventh annual J.B. Douglas Postgraduate Awards Day, held on 29th November at Macquarie University. His talk `Parsimonious Classification via Generalised Linear Mixed Models', was one of three prize-winning presentations.
The awards are run by the NSW Branch of the Statistical Society of Australia. They commemorate the work of Jim Douglas.
