In an article `Maths, the passport to full employment', the Sydney Morning Herald of Nov 5 2007 reported on the poor public understanding of the wide range of careers available to maths graduates. It included comments from UNSW PhD student Greg Londish, who works on mathematical models of HIV epidemics, and from UNSW mathematicians Ben Waterhouse, James Franklin and Ian Sloan.
