Mathematical modelling of infectious diseases:
This project is supported by a National Health and Medical Research Council Program Grant on “HIV and hepatitis C virus vaccines and immunopathogenesis” involving leading infectious diseases researchers in Australia. The project will relate to mathematical modelling of the dynamical systems underlying the interaction between these diseases and the immune system’s response. You will have the opportunity to interact with leading Australian and international biomedical researchers. No biological training is necessary, only a willingness to learn. Strong quantitative skills are required with some familiarity with computing. The scholarship will run for 3 years providing $8,000 per year in addition to APA support, plus funding for travel.
