The Landscape Architecture program is celebrating the achievement of two third-year students, Tim Vyse and George Wang who were among the top 20 finalists in the EDAW | AECOM Urban SOS International Student Design Competition. There were a total of 350 entries from all around the world and their entry will be exhibited at the upcoming World Architecture Festival in Barcelona in early November.

Entitled Defibrillation, their project identified the Shell Refinery site in Parramatta at the convergence of the Parramatta and Duck Rivers as a potential future urban precinct for landscape remediation and urban redevelopment into productive parklands integrated with commercial and residential development. This demonstration of individual initiative, sound planning and design thinking, and graphic production resulted in an impressive submission that clearly stood out among the entries.

Congratulations to Tim and George!
