Built Environment Postgraduate Research student Jennifer Manefield has been chosen to represent UNSW at the 2011 U21 Graduate Research Conference in Malaysia. Jennifer will be one of four UNSW students who will attend the conference on behalf of the university. Each student is sponsored by the Graduate Research School.

The topic for this year’s conference is “Food”. The topic represents an interdisciplinary issue that allows diverse and complementary research to contribute to solving some of the most important questions that face humankind. The chosen topic will allow the U21 postgraduate students to integrate science, engineering, health, social science, business, humanities and possibly other subjects into a themed series of talks, posters and networking activities during the conference. This will include professional development activities on the nature and challenges of interdisciplinary research.

As well as working on her PhD, Jennifer also works as a Research Assistant for the City Futures Research Centre.
