Members of the School of Mathematics and Statistics have been outstandingly successful in the latest round of ARC Discovery and Linkage grants, which were announced on 1 November.
The School received nine Discovery Projects, making up one third of the number received by the UNSW Faculty of Science, and about 10% of the UNSW total.
This amounts to nearly $3.4 million in new research funding for the School.
Additionally, School members are co-investigators on one successful Linkage Project awarded to the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences at UNSW, and on four other successful Discovery Projects awarded to other universities.
Our Discovery Project success means that we received the most funding in the 01 Mathematical Sciences classification code of any School of mathematics and statistics in Australia.
