DesignTECH Expo 2012: sustainability design winner announced

Congratulations to HSC student, Taya Brooks of St John Bosco College Engadine who has been awarded the UNSW Sustainability in Design Award.
The DesignTECH Expo 2012 took place recently and Taya was commended for her sustainable built beach house titled :The Shangri-la: sustainable beach house. The piece impressed judges from the NSW Board of Studies as well as UNSW Built Environment Head of Discipline, Associate Professor Bruce Judd.
UNSW Built Environment sponsors the exhibition which awards and displays the top Design and Technology HSC students’ from around NSW.
The exhibition is taking place at the Sydney Powerhouse Museum until May 2012. In addition to showcasing students’ work includes a seminar series for students in years 11 and 12 consisting of a number of lectures, workshops and presentations provided by UNSW BE alumni.
