You will need :

  • to be enrolled as a second year undergraduate or enrolled in Postgraduate Program or Research
  • to be able to work weekdays (afternoon/evening) on a casual basis.

The commitment is approx:

  • Approximately 3-4 career markets (day or evening markets)
  • UNSW Open Day and Info Day
  • 3-4 student presentations (Yr 10, 11 or 12)

The Role of the Built Environment Student Ambassador

The Student Ambassadors primary main role is to assist in the marketing and promotional activities of the Faculty of the Built Environment. For example, Built Environment Student Ambassadors visit and present to students at metropolitan High Schools & Career markets, and conduct workshops on campus, all of which are organised by the Marketing and Community Engagement Officer from the Faculty of the Built Environment and conducted on a regular basis throughout the year.

Therefore, the key elements of the Built Environment Student Ambassador roles are as follows:

• Attend Faculty Information Days/Evenings, Careers Markets and High School Visits

• UNSW on campus workshops

• UNSW Promotional Events

Attend Faculty Information Days/Evenings and Careers Markets and Visit High Schools

Built Environment Student Ambassadors attend events to promote Built Environment Programs offered at UNSW and to provide prospective students with program information and student perspectives of university life. This is performed as both a one-on-one experience but most commonly as a formal presentation.

UNSW Promotional Events

Built Environment Student Ambassadors would be involved in events such as Open Day (September) and Info Day (January) and would provide program information, give presentations and undertake a general public relations role in promoting UNSW.
