Last Friday the School welcomed a group of 12 from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). The Mathematics and Investment Science students and two academic staff enjoyed half a day of program seminars and had the opportunity to socialise with School members over lunch.

The visit allowed the students to explore exchange study opportunities within our School, and helped to consolidate our already strong links with PolyU’s Department of Applied Mathematics.

Current Head of their Department of Applied Mathematics is Professor Qi Li-qun, who has previously worked within our School. Our esteemed Professor Ian Sloan is an Honorary Professor of the Department, while Professor Wolfgang Schief is an Honorary Fellow there.

Additionally, Professor Colin Rogers is their Chair Professor of Engineering Mathematics, and Associate Professor Robert Womersley has taught at PolyU in the past.
