Congratulations to Dr Elizabeth Mason for being awarded a prestigious Fellowship from the American Australian Association. The specific fellowship Liz received is sponsored by Qantas and is given to support "Australian researchers who wish to conduct leading research in life sciences, medicine, engineering and sustainability at top US educational institutions". Liz will use this Fellowship to do a research project in Professor Allison Harvey's lab at the University of California, Berkeley. The project will investigate a novel treatment for adolescents with sleep disturbances, and will examine processes underlying insomnia and its relationship to emotional and physical health. Liz received her PhD from the School in 2010, under the supervision of Professor Rick Richardson, and currently works at The Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUfAD), which is a joint facility of The University of New South Wales and St. Vincent's Hospital in Sydney.
