Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The Space Education and Outreach Committee of the IAF is this year prototyping a student activity-the Student Archives Project, which encourages students to seek out archival material relating to their national space/aerospace history that may be in danger of being lost/destroyed and have it digitised and submitted for presentation at the IAF Congress in a special theatre setting in the congress' Student Zone. Information on the project is attached.

This year is very much a trial of the project idea, but the organisers would like to receive as many submissions as possible, so as the deadline for submissions is so short (due to the time that it has taken to put this project together) I would ask you to assist in disseminating information about the project to any students or student groups that you think might be interested in participating. It is possible for students who are not attending the IAC to submit contributions to the project. If you or your students have any questions, please direct them to project co-ordinator Mark Becnel at mark.becnel@uah.edu

I hope that this is a project that will grow over the coming years into a worthwhile student activity at each International Astronautical Congress, so any help you can give in getting the word out about this prototype event this year will be greatly appreciated. Feel free to distribute this email to any other colleagues you think may be interested.

Thanks,
