On 28 August 2012 at the 26th International Biometric Conference in Kobe, Japan, Professor Sue Wilson was presented with the award of Honorary Life Membership of the International Biometric Society. Sue, who was President of the Society during 1998-99, is the 20th person to receive this honour, and the first person from the Australasian Region.

At UNSW, Sue holds appointments in the School of Mathematics and Statistics and the Prince of Wales Clinical School. She has an international reputation for her research into the development of novel statistical methodology for
complex genomic data.
